Out of School Time (OST) Programs

DC IMPACT’s OST Program’s core mission is to empower students to grow and develop in a safe, caring, and educationally enriched environment. The program provides a safe, happy growing-up experience to meet those needs when the child is away from home. It is important that children be given the best possible opportunities to grow into healthy, well-adjusted and responsible adults.

DC IMPACT’s OST Program may include academic enrichment and intervention through engaging interactive instruction; social and emotional development; cultural arts exposure and enrichment; and recreational and leisure activities

OST Hours
For schools operating from 8:00 am to 2:00pm, afterschool program choices are:

  • Full-time program (Dismissal to 6:00pm)

  • Before-school program (6:30 am to 7:30 am)

OST is a quality enrichment program, located in a safe setting, offering scheduled academic and special activities, and cannot accommodate occasional drop-in service. Students must be enrolled and tuition must be paid weekly for any of the above programs.

Family Emergency Service Solutions

DCI Family Emergency Service Solutions program assists homeless households and households at risk of homelessness by providing the services necessary to help them quickly regain stable housing after experiencing a housing crisis and/or homelessness. DCI services are procured on an annual basis. Therefore, the services provided may change each year.  Currently, DHCD funds DCI services under the following components: Shelter Support; Rapid Re-housing; and Homelessness Prevention. DCI strives to develop systemic approaches to combat poverty and homelessness among families with children, and to enhance family economic security and well-being..

DCI Family Solutions Center will also provide a single, centralized point of access for families in need of crisis services, temporary and permanent housing placement, and linkages with employment, physical and mental health, child care and other community-based services. All families in Richmond (incorporated/unincorporated) who are homeless are referred to the DCI Center for assessment and triage of service needs, followed by facilitated linkages to community programs to resolve immediate crises and promote housing stability.
